  • I was looking through my notes from a book I read a while back, “Roots of a Region: Southern Folk Culture” by John Burrison. This quote really hit home with me considering it alludes to I have been thinking throughout this semester while working on my photo project.

“What we’ve gained in technology we seem to have lost in the social cohesion for which folklore served so effectively as glue; cell phones and computers are poor substitutes for storytelling sessions and quiliting bees.” AND OLD TIME JAMS

I’m ready to go live on a mountain and get away from the technologically impersonal society (I say as I type in a blog).
